Sienna's World

These are a couple of pics my brother Brad took of Sienna when we were at my parents house Sunday night for dinner. She stripped off her clothes and built forts and played hide and seek with Uncle Brad. She also suckered people to get her into my dad's water feature to go "swimmin". I love this pic of her wearing my mom's reading glasses. She certainly is a spunky little thing these days. I guess I'll write down a few things I don't want to forget. She is a little chatter box and just doesn't stop. She speaks in full sentences and can pretty much communicate anything she wants. When I give her lunch, she'll hand something back to me and say "cut it." So, now we're just working on the "would you please?" part. Actually, she says please and thank you more than any other kid I know. It's pretty cute. Speaking of food, she is still the pickiest little eater, though it's hard to complain because she will eat fruits and veggies. She just won't eat any meat and not really much table food. No pizza, pasta, mac-n-cheese, grilled cheese, quesadillas, etc....which makes it super tricky if we're out and have to get something at a restaurant or drive-through. Well, we have made a breakthrough and in the past few weeks have gotten her to start eating PB&J's and Mickey Chicken Nuggets. And she loves chocolate milk, her "shake". I swear I'm the only parent who is excited when their kid will eat this kind of crap. But at least she's getting some protein and we have a couple of "meal" options. What else? Well, she loves to play with "claydo" and go swimming. Last week my mom taught her the "Hit the road, Jack" song and she sings it all the time, shaking her head and waving her finger back and forth when she says "and don't you come back, no more, no more, no more". It's pretty funny hearing a song like that come from such a sweet little voice. I need to get it on video. It's pretty stinkin' cute. My little Sienna who has not been a cuddler, suddenly turned into a little cuddle bug. She wants hugs all the time, and will say "I need a hug....and a kiss?" We started giving "fish" kisses, and now she'll go through every other animal she knows, "doggy kiss, horsey kiss, cow kiss, froggy kiss" though they are all exactly the same! She's a funny little thing. Sienna is also obsessed with the potty, but she doesn't how to go potty, and she doesn't tell me when she goes potty, so I don't really know how to start the whole potty training thing. She will sit on the little pink toilet, with her diaper on, grab a couple of squares, wipe and then hop off and say all done. She still seems so young, since she's not even 2 years old yet, but I've heard that often girls are earlier than boys. Any advice, friends?

Don't worry-Evan only eats what I refer to as circus food. Nuggets, Ikea meatballs, hotdogs, mac n cheese, and occasionally he'll agree to a grilled cheese. A few fruits, no veggies and no water- juice only. I figure he'll either have an early heart attack or he's just fine. Your baby is awfully cute!
